Top 3 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Organizing Your Kitchen . . .
1. How often do you cook or sit at your kitchen table (assuming you have one to begin with)?
Removing a kitchen table (and perhaps adding a small to medium cutting/butcher block) will give you a huge increase in work space, and help you cook with more freedom.
2. What's the largest number of people you will need to serve in a given year?
Do not keep too many excess plates or glasses. They take up precious cupboard space and make it more difficult to get to the items you use more frequently.
3. What is your most used cookware?
Consider adding a pot rack over a bar or cutting block. If you do not have space in either of these areas, try adding a pegboard with hooks on a free wall.
